Although CrossFit is a big part of our lives, we all certainly have a lot going on outside of the box; in fact, for most of us it often feels like a juggling act to get everything we need to accomplish done in a 24 hour time frame. We understand that sometimes something’s got to give, and that unforeseen circumstances can interfere with your ability to make it in to see us.

However, on days you are deciding on whether or not to WOD, ask yourself, “Is my reason for not going legit, or is it an excuse?” Sick kids, late meetings, family emergencies, injuries…these things happen to us all from time to time and sometimes must take priority over time at the gym. On the other hand, sometimes the fact that we don’t like an element of the workout, we are feeling unmotivated, or we are tired from the day sway us towards the couch.

The next time you feel an excuse creeping in and motivating you to skip out, take an honest look at why. Think back to previous times you’ve pushed yourself to show up, and you will probably remember, “I never regret it when I do, but I always regret it when I don’t.”
