20170724_153805I am… the biggest dork you’ll ever meet.

I like… building computers, tinkering with mechanical stuff.

I dislike… the idea of jumping out of perfectly good planes. I won’t do it, I tell you!

I eat… better than I had before starting here!

I will… make you laugh at some point.

 

Tell us a little bit about yourself, hobbies, occupation, etc…

I’m pretty much the shiest person you’ll ever meet. However, once you do get to know me, you really can’t shut me up! Just ask my lovely husband. I’m one of the admins for a calibration company. For hobbies, I build computer rigs on the side. I also do a lot of graphic arts, drawing and sketching, writing, and in the spare time gaming and general life stuff.

 

What brought you to Centerville CrossFit and CrossFit in general?

Actually, a friend of mine recommended to look into a CrossFit group in my area. I had broken my leg a couple years prior and was still having issues with it. I also had a lot of confidence issues. So, taking up on his advice, I decided to give it a look. I found several groups, but I came across Centerville CrossFit, and read up on them and decided to give it a try.

 

What goals have you achieved? What are your new ones?

One of the biggest goals I had beginning the program was to try to stop walking in pain and gain confidence back. Also wanted to gain some of the strength back I had when I used to play soccer. A year later and a lot of work and recommendations from the trainers I had, I’m pain free, walking with a bit more confidence, and still fail at juggling a soccer ball. But I guess I can kick it the length of the field again. : ) New goals are to continue getting better than I was yesterday, lose more weight, and maybe take over the world. Haven’t decided yet.

 

What is your favorite movement?

I have to pick one? Darn. Well, I guess if I ever say no to the deadlifting, I’m probably sick or something. Or someone’s put a clone in my place.

 

What is your least favorite movement?
I’m pretty sure if I say it out loud, my trainer is going to make me do it every day until it is no longer my least favorite.

 

What is your favorite quote or words to live by?

“Lighten up, just enjoy life, smile more, laugh more, and don’t get so worked up about things.”

 

Do you have any advice to new members or someone thinking about joining?

Just do it! Even if you’re on the branch about it, or have maybe possibly considered it, then it’s worth trying.

 

What do you love about Centerville CrossFit?

I honestly like the community. As someone who takes time to warm up around people, I feel as though I was welcomed quite a bit and encouraged to continue not just by the trainers, but by the individuals who’ve at least came up and gotten to know me better.
