I like… people. And sleep. And coffee.

I dislike… celery, racism, and getting dressed up.

I eat… lean meats, more and more veggies. And coffee.

I will… keep getting better at everything I try.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, hobbies, occupation, etc…
I’ve worked for 27 years as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. I’m employed at SOIN medical center. My main hobby is CrossFit of course but I spend a great deal of time volunteering at my church.

What brought you to Centerville Crossfit and CrossFit in general?
I found Centerville CrossFit from the New you challenge back in Sept 2016 in declining health and mental exhaustion. CrossFit gave me the exercise programming I hadn’t found before. Its been challenging, interesting and fun. CrossFit has kept me engaged unlike any other attempt at exercise I’ve tried before.

What goals have you achieved? What are your new ones?
I’ve been able to dead lift 205 lbs which still sounds like a lot! I’ve almost graduated to “real” push ups. I’ve lost a good bit of weight and reinvented my life. I want to get pull ups this year and the dreaded double unders.

What is your favorite movement?
Power cleans, thrusters, deadlifts

What is your least favorite movement?
Double unders, snatches, running.

What is your favorite quote or words to live by?
Everyone has a story-pay attention

Do you have any advice to new members or someone thinking about joining?
Don’t be intimidated by exercises that are new or hard. Find an inspiration and motivation that WORKS for you. Set goals that are achievable and then repeat.

What do you love about Centerville CrossFit?
People I’ve met who are so supportive. Everyone is so encouraging and keeps the hard classes from being too intimidating.
