I am… human. I have triumphs and failures, good days and bad. I try to work hard, make people laugh and learn something new each day.
I like… a challenge. Please underestimate me so I can show you what I can do.
I dislike… the sound of squeaking Styrofoam.
I eat… a vegetarian diet and count macros. I actually enjoy food prep and love to use new and unusual ingredients in my cooking.
I will… see you at the gym!

Tell us a little bit about yourself, hobbies, occupation, etc…
I am an old lady trapped in the body of a young(ish) person. I like puzzles and rocking chairs. I garden and bird watch. I would rather have a discussion with someone over coffee than be in a crowd.
So I’m not a total recluse. I work as a clinical pharmacist which gives me the opportunity to meet and teach people everyday. My husband and I have a diva French bulldog named Lily. I also have 14 nieces and nephews who remind me daily to laugh, go on adventures and enjoy life.

What brought you to Centerville Crossfit and CrossFit in general?
I was strictly cardio before starting CrossFit. I had run several half marathons but was bored with the training. I had no upper body strength and needed a change. I just switched jobs at the time and wanted the social aspect that CrossFit offered (you read the hobby section, right?).

What goals have you achieved? What are your new ones?
I walked in with the goal of 1 strict pull-up. I WILL have a ring muscle up by the end of summ…fall.

What is your favorite movement?
HSPUs

What is your least favorite movement?
Rowing for calories.

What is your favorite quote or words to live by?
N/A

Do you have any advice to new members or someone thinking about joining?
Just walk through the door. You do not have to lift the heaviest or be the fastest. Run your own race. The changes you will experience will be more than just physical.

What do you love about Centerville CrossFit?
The coaches, the coaching and the community. I had never even picked up a barbell before joining CCF. The coaches taught me everything I know and are constantly giving feedback to get better.
They are knowledgeable, talented and truly care. I absolutely must give credit to the entire CCF community of athletes. Training beside each of you is nothing short of inspiring. You give me motivation and confidence to keep going…not to mention the sweaty hugs.
