I am… a Christ follower, husband, and father

I like… the outdoors

I dislike… social media and cell phones

I eat… ninety percent better than I used to thanks to Mitch (Paleo diet – yeah!)

I will… always be grateful to my father for making me a Bengals fan, not a Browns fan.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, hobbies, occupation, etc…
I’ve been married for 26 years to my wife, Kristina. We met in college and have three teenagers (I pray a lot!).  I am a Family Practice Physician in Centerville. I enjoy trail running, reading history related books, and tent camping (it just occurred to me that I sound really boring)

What brought you to Centerville CrossFit and CrossFit in general?
My office is on Congress Park drive and on the way home, I would notice people running around a building on Senate which made me curious. Eventually, a friend told me about Centerville CrossFit and then it all made sense.

What goals have you achieved? What are your new ones?
In the beginning, it was very basic. I wanted to do one pull-up and one push-up. Over the years, these simple goals have progressed to being able to do kipping pull-ups, handstand push-ups, and double unders. In another four years, I want to do a muscle-up—it could happen, right?

What is your favorite movement?
My favorite is the Clean.

What is your least favorite movement?
It’s not a movement, but Spencer, are those Assault bikes really necessary?

What is your favorite quote or words to live by?
“Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”  Winston Churchill

Do you have any advice to new members or someone thinking about joining?
Don’t wait. It’s hard to believe I know, but regardless of your level, you will feel comfortable at Centerville CrossFit.

What do you love about Centerville CrossFit?
For one hour a day, I simply do what I’m told. I don’t have to think.
The trainers are encouraging, knowledgeable, and always have your best interest in mind. Most importantly, it works!
