Games Wrap-Up

With the 5th and final week behind us, we couldn’t be more proud of our  55 clients who participated in the 2012 CrossFit Games. Every Friday night our gym was filled with our newest members to our firebreathers, all working out together and cheering one another along. There were those who put up incredible scores and those who experienced many firsts along the way; this week alone Mel S, Miranda, Shannon, and Mel M got not just their first, but multiple chest to bar pull-ups. The competitive environment is valuable for providing a baseline of where you are with your skills, how you rank up among your peers, and for setting goals for the upcoming year.


Because of the huge success of our Friday night workouts, we’d like to continue them on a monthly basis. The first Saturday of every month is our community workout; starting in April, we will now have a Games style workout the day before. On that day we will have our normal 6 am, 10 am, noon, and 4:30 classes, but then have a 6:00 workout. As with the last 5 weeks, we will continue to run everyone in heats, and we encourage you to stay and socialize afterwards.

We look forward to our first of these events on Friday, April 6.


Free Community Workout

Community Workout is Saturday, April 7 at 10:00 am. This workout is open to anyone interested in trying a CrossFit workout, and after attending you will receive a voucher for a Free Elements package or 2 free weeks of Boot Camp. We limit registration to the first 25 RSVPs, and we’ve been full the last several months, so please email Meghan at meghan@centervillecrossfit.com ASAP to reserve your spot. If you’ve attended a community workout before, we welcome you to return!
