Ready to be inspired? Check out the following story from Kristi who is embarking upon her one year anniversary with CrossFit.

I had never heard of Crossfit until I kept receiving repetitive emails from Meghan Maloney. I did check out a Crossfit video on YouTube, once. I sat and laughed hysterically and went on with my day. The emails kept showing up in my inbox. Then there was the infamous “CENTERVILLE CROSSFIT BOOT CAMP IN WAYNESVILLE” email last spring, and Meghan finally broke me. I decided to put myself out there and it changed my life. I’m a morning person so I chose the 6am time slot and I went for it all Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I loved it!! I then braved a CenterviIle Crossfit community workout, I was HOOKED!! I have been overweight most of my life. I would always be categorized by being called “even fat” or ” big boned”. Really?! Being an athlete in my younger days with gymnastics, softball, and volleyball,  I always wanted to find an exercise that I could use my athleticism in while enjoying working out and losing weight at the same time. I tried walking, going to the YMCA, changing my eating habits, nothing ever worked and was always so BORING. Before starting Crossfit I had already lost about 30lbs by cutting out high fructose corn syrup and anything I couldn’t pronounce. Meghan introduced me to the Paleo lifestyle during summer boot camp classes, it was a life changing feeling. I lost inches quickly and started toning up within just 2 months of boot camp.
I started Centerville Crossfit on September 1, 2011. I will NEVER forget that day. My mind, body and soul will never be the same. I used to be an anxious, impatient, short tempered person, carried stress throughout my whole being. Within 2-3 months of regular 3x a week classes and changing to a Paleo lifestyle I felt like a new person. My family really noticed the difference in my attitude immediately. My whole body has changed since starting Crossfit, I stand taller, have more confidence, I  AM stronger and feel like a new person, everyday. Starting Crossfit I was wearing a size 17/18 jean and today I am PROUDLY wearing a size 10. Ive also lost another 30lbs. I have muscles under my skin I never knew existed!! Yes, I do stand in the mirror and flex my arms, I love, love my shoulders and arms! Don’t judge, I know you Crossfitters do it too! I used to hate running and “hate” was not even a strong enough word to describe how much i disliked it! With that being said, I recently ran my first quarter marathon. If someone would have told me I would be running a “marathon” at 36, I would have again laughed hysterically and went on with my day. It was one of the most amazing times of my life and I completely owe that life experience to Centerville Crossfit and to Meghan for sending all those emails.. Believe me I still complain about running but I think its gotten better.. right, Mitch!?!? I am most proud of being able to do ten real push-ups in a row, dead lifting 213lbs and turning my body into something it was born to be. I love belonging to such an amazing CROSSFIT BOX with the most supporting and unbelievable trainers and to all the new friends I have made along this journey. I am a Crossfitter for LIFE!! I promise if you give Centerville Crossfit one hour of your time with any of our trainers YOU will keep coming back for more!! Thanks again to Mitch, Meghan, Becky, Casey and Eben for all of their words of encouragement and not letting any of us quit!! Oh, btw, can we get more deck squats, please!?!?
