Today's Success Stories is 2 for 1.  Shawn and Steph.

Before my Crossfit experience, I had been reading the Crossfit HQ, Journal and message board websites for almost a year. Watching the videos of the WODs made me nervous about what I wanted to get myself into but the intensity of these athletes pulled me in. I began bugging my wife to start working out with me and doing this Crossfit "stuff."  She blew me off thinking it was just some infomercial type program that I had come across. After about 6 months of bugging her she agreed to join the first On-Ramp class at the closest gym, CrossfitCreek. As nervous as I was about finally Crossfitting, I was excited about the WODs!  I was enjoying being at the gym with Steph and working out. Once the soreness of getting back into training wore off a little, I began to feel better and have more energy throughout the day. We discussed joining the gym after On-Ramp and funny enough; Steph had already made up her mind that we were joining! She had come full circle, from not wanting to do anything to pushing me to do more each week.

I have come a long way since January 2010, but still have a long way to go. Before we started, I couldn't hold my daughter and pick something up off of the floor. I was lazy, sluggish and preferred sitting on my butt rather than doing anything. These days, I get fidgety if I go more than two days without a workout. I have lost around 20lbs and can fit into clothes that I had packed away for good.

The most important benefit of my Crossfit experience has been the improvement to my relationship with Steph. We have become so much closer and we enjoy our time together at the gym. The challenges of marriage seem easily manageable after a being crushed by a WOD or two together!!

Coworkers, friends and family don't understand why we put ourselves through the punishment that we do on a weekly basis at the gym. As I lay on the floor after a WOD totally soaked with sweat trying to catch my breath while the room is spinning I can only think..They'll never know what they are missing!!

Before Crossfit, I thought I was too busy to start working out. I had an eight month old, full time job, and house work. Plus, I didn't look THAT bad for just having a baby..Right? Shawn was constantly talking about this Crossfit stuff, but he didn't understand how I felt. I was overwhelmed with stuff on my plate as a new mom and I didn't need anything else added to it. Also I felt it was too expensive, and we could do something at home much cheaper. We just needed to start doing it.

I finally gave in and decided to sign up for the On Ramp program in January 2010. The first time I walked into the gym, I was nervous because I knew nothing about Crossfit. I was just doing this for one month to make Shawn happy and to get him off my back. I learned a lot during that month and I really started to like the style of workouts. It was different than anything I had ever done. I noticed in just a short period of time that I had more energy. I felt more confident, and Shawn and I were getting along better because we shared this experience together. After the month was up..I was hooked. There was NO way that we were not joining. The price didn't matter. Crossfit has shown me how strong I am and can become-not just physically but mentally also.

I have gone down two pant sizes and one shirt size. Every day I see an improvement in myself. Sometimes it may be small but it's big to me. I love doing anything with a barbell, but I still do not like the running part. ?Starting Crossfit has changed so many areas of my life and I love it! I have more energy when I am playing with my daughter. My marriage is stronger because we workout side by side. We are investing into our health more than ever. I have become a stronger, more confident mother/wife and I want that to be an example to my daughter. My outlook on life is different. I feel like I can accomplish more because it's usually not as bad as the WOD I just finished.
