What brought you to Centerville CrossFit and CrossFit in
general?
I was introduced to Centerville CrossFit about 9 years ago and started off in the beginner’s class and it was great. Then I went to a competition in Kentucky and actually watched Coach Jen compete (she wasn’t our coach then) and said I want to be able to do that (bar muscle ups 😊) !
What goals have you achieved? What are your new ones?
I have had a roller coaster ride with injuries but I am excited to have had a couple PR’s with lifting. My new goal would be to improve on gymnastics skills and one day get pull ups down, even if it were kipping.
What is your favorite movement?
Power Cleans
What is your least favorite movement?
Burpees!!!! Of Course!
What is your favorite quote or words to live by?
“You cannot control everything that happens to you; you can only control the way you respond to what happens. In your response is your power.”
Do you have any advice to new members or someone thinking
about joining?
Take the chance and make the change. CrossFit is for everyone! Young, old, large, small, strong, not so strong everyone can make a workout their own. I promise you might feel like you are dying but afterwards you feel great and a feeling of achievement that you made it through another WOD!
What do you love about Centerville CrossFit?
The community and friends! Everyone is on your side whether it is the elite athlete or just the person that is getting their workout in for the day. The coaches help no matter what your limitations are and push you when they (and you) know you can go just that little bit more!
